How to resize an image
- Drop your image into the box, or click to choose a file.
- Enter a width or height in pixels, or choose a percentage. Keep "Lock aspect ratio" on to avoid stretching.
- Or pick a preset: Square post (1080 × 1080), Portrait post (1080 × 1350), Story (1080 × 1920), Profile photo (400 × 400), Full HD (1920 × 1080), Video thumbnail 16:9 (1280 × 720), Video thumbnail 4K 16:9 (3840 × 2160), Passport / visa photo 2 × 2 in (600 × 600), X (Twitter) header (1500 × 500) or LinkedIn cover (1584 × 396). Presets crop from the center to the exact size, so your image is never stretched.
- Check the preview, which updates automatically, then download your image.

Making images smaller vs. larger
Shrinking an image usually keeps it looking sharp. Enlarging a small image beyond its original size can make it look soft or blurry, because no tool can add detail that was never captured.
Private by design
Your images are resized on your own device, inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without stretching it?
Keep the aspect ratio lock turned on and change only the width or the height. The other side is calculated automatically.
Can I resize an image to a specific file size?
Yes. Use the Resize to KB tool and enter a target such as 50 KB.
Will resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller generally keeps it sharp. Making it much larger than the original can reduce sharpness.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Add multiple files and apply the same size to all of them.
What happens when I use a preset?
Your image is scaled and cropped from the center to the exact preset size, such as 1080 × 1350. Nothing is stretched, but edges may be trimmed if the shape is different. For headers, keep important content near the middle.
Is there a size limit?
There is no limit set by us. Very large images depend on your device's memory and may take longer. Output images can be up to 16,384 pixels on each side.
Will the passport / visa photo preset make my photo acceptable?
It only sets the size (600 × 600 pixels, which is 2 × 2 in when printed at 300 ppi). It can't check whether your photo meets the other official rules, such as background, lighting or head position. Always check the official requirements before you submit.
